Mega Glam Life Review
Think of ‘Mega’ Progressive Jackpot slots and you will no doubt start thinking about the big guns from NetEnt and Microgaming like Mega Fortune and Mega Moolah. Well Betsoft launched a Mega progressive jackpot game of their own in 2015, and while it bears more than a passing resemblance to Mega Fortune, let’s see what this one has to offer.
Certainly it is true to say that Mega Glam Life has never captured the public imagination in the same way as the releases from Microgaming and NetEnt. This may be something to do with the rather clunky name, although there are other concerns with this slot.
The Casino Gorilla did some sleuthing and uncovered the case of a player who was not paid out a jackpot win under somewhat suspicious circumstances, not to mention irregularities with pay-outs on the same game from different casinos. These are the kind of issues which cause slot games to sink without trace, but let’s take a look at how this particular game works.

Mega Glam Life was created by Betsoft in June 2015 with the express aim of taking some of the business away from the previously mentioned Mega slots. This is a 5 x 3 reel game with 20 paylines.
The game is medium variance, meaning that it pays out reasonably consistently, and has a decent return to player of 96.29%. Per spin bets will suit big and small players alike as they range from 40 cents all the way up to $100 a spin.
How to Play
We could be polite and say that this game has clearly been ‘inspired’ by NetEnt’s famous Mega Fortune slot. However, the Casino Gorilla has never been known for his politeness and he calls it a straight up copy of the original.
Which is fair. Some of the symbols are virtually identical too, and we are not even referring to the diamond encrusted 10 to A card symbols. There are only four higher value symbols here, with the lowest two being a champagne bottle in a bucket of ice and an expensive watch (sound familiar?) followed by a sports car and a luxury yacht. That last will earn you 7,500 times your bet if you find 5 of them on a pay-line.
A private jet is the wild symbol for Mega Glam Life, and these can replace anything except bonus and scatter symbols. There are cash payouts for 3, 4 or 5 scatters appearing on the reels, with the top prize being 5,000 times your stake.
When you have three or more wilds on the reels you also get a free respin with the wilds frozen in place. The wild will always stand in for the highest paying symbols in a winning line.
Special Features and Bonus Games
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but the scatter symbol in this game looks remarkably similar to the wild symbol in NetEnt’s Mega Fortune Dreams. Coincidentally, both show palm trees in front of a tropical location.
Coincidences aside, you earn 8, 12 and 16 free spins if you can find 3, 4 or 5 of these scatters anywhere on the reels at the same time. During the free spin round your wins are all multiplied by three.
If you find any more scatters during those free spin rounds then the multiplier increases by 1 or 2 times up to a maximum of 10 or you could get 3 more… actually, just look up the rules for Mega Fortune Dreams free spins because they are exactly the same!
Mega Glam Life Jackpot
Okay then, so how does the jackpot work for this familiar-looking game from Betsoft? Well there are three to play for, called the Big, Huge and Mega jackpots respectively.
These will never reach the heights of a Mega Moolah or Mega Fortune as the largest ‘Mega’ prize on offer here is usually measured in hundreds of thousands rather than millions.
I mean that’s still a good chunk of change, just not a record-breaker. The Big and Huge Jackpots can run into tens of thousands potentially, so for sure all three are worth winning.
Again, when we describe how the bonus game works you will most likely feel pangs of recognition if you have played those NetEnt jackpot games before. You are taken to a big wheel, which is made up of three interlocking wheels with the Mega diamond in the center.
Each wheel spins and you hope to get an arrow to take you to the next wheel rather than the cash prize which means that your game is over. The closer you get to the centre, the less arrows are available even though the cash prizes do get considerably larger.
There’s no way around it: it is just not possible to play Mega Glam Life without feeling like you are actually playing a knock-off version of Mega Fortune Dreams. The difference is that the latter offers bigger prizes and has a much better reputation when it comes to paying out those prizes.
If you can put the NetEnt game out of your head then Mega Glam Life is not a bad slot. Of course, it isn’t, it uses exactly the same mechanics as Mega Fortune.
Just not as well. You will struggle to find this game in most major casinos these days but that’s okay, because guess what? Mega Fortune Dreams is better.
